Executive Coaching and Mentoring
Coaching/ Mentoring of MDs and Senior Managers
With so many competing demands on your attention and time, it can be difficult to find time to implement projects for your future when your elbow-deep in today's issues. Here are some of our coaching schemes:
CHALLENGE COACHING
A very popular approach, we coach you on bringing in a big goal. In the recent past, companies have used us to:
- launch a new division or spin off business (whilst keeping the current one successful)
- make a major shift in their sales results
- develop and launch a marketing campaign
- recruit and build a new division
- devise and initiate a continuous improvement effort
- launch an international best-selling book
- create the company's first proper strategy
THE BIG PICTURE
If you have shrunk, got too involved in the day-to-day and put off the future for too long, our coaches can work with you to take stock, develop priorities for your future business and take action to attain well developed goals you believe in and want. Unlike many coaches, we talk business as well as personal development and growth.
FREEDOM AND FLOW
We all develop unproductive habits that stop us achieving what we want to achieve. This process starts with a Productivity Audit. Then you will clarify or strengthen your Goals in each area of your life, using our Goal Development technique. After which you will create a one-touch system for dealing with incoming emails, calls, post, requests, meetings and paper. The coaching will focus on the progressive adoption and implementation of that system to give you a sense of flow and freedom.
NEXT CAREER STEPS
Perhaps you want to talk to someone confidentially about your options. Maybe you're bored or experiencing low work satisfaction. We talk deeply with you about your ambitions and aspirations, what you like doing and don't. We might use a variety of inventories such as Myers Briggs Type Indicator, Strengths Inventory, Work Preferences Questionnaire, Occupation Reviews and others to develop a detailed picture of you. We then work on three issues:
- How can change what you are currently doing to give you the satisfaction you seek?
- What do you want to do in the future?
- What is your plan for achieving this?
We will help you articulate your options and take your first steps into a new future.
Team Coaching
Part of a team who want and need to perform? Are your team meetings not really doing the trick? Over or under communicating (sometimes both at the same time!) Want to improve co-ordination and timing? Want to reduce misunderstandings and failures to fulfil commitments? Want to improve the ethos of the team and make it more ambitious, more focused and more responsible?
Team coaching could be the answer. Our coaching is candid. We won't pull our punches - we believe you are paying for our honest view. We will be constructive and sensitive. Use us to
- develop, test or re-commit to business plans
- review problematic projects and get them back on track
- develop better team-based work flows through process design and better team member cooperation
- resolve probelms and clashes between team members of sub groups
Often, we start such work with a detailed survey of all team members. The non-attributable results of this are then used by the team to iron out problems, develop a Team Charter and set up the programme of Team Coaching
Training of Coaches and Mentors
Coaching and Mentoring should be part of the essence of management. Whilst we have found that most managers proudly imagine they are good at it, few coachees agree. Some of the world's best companies train all managers to coach and mentor and have formal processes throughout the company. We provide the training and formal tools to help groups of managers become powerful coaches. Why? Beacuse coaching and mentoring can:
-
improve the extent to which people develop their capability and performance
-
can reduce tensions and frictions between managers and the managed. In turn, this can reduce rate at which people leave the organisation (it's been found that most people leave because they don't get on with their manager).
- save you lots of time and money on training programmes and fixing problem performance after the failures have occurred.
Our integrated programmes can consist of:
- promoting coaching and providing some self-evaluation and independent learning methods
- a formal training process based on action learning
- a coach supervision process to complement all of the above
